Cambro's Drying Rack System is a sanitary drying and storage solution. This solution combines the corrosion resistance and the strength of Camshelving coupled with the ease of maneuverability for convenient floor clean-up. Available in Camshelving Premium Series and Camshelving Elements Series, this mobile rack is designed with 7 Slot removable Drying Cradles to securely hold trays, cutting boards, lids, baking sheet pans and plates to promote air circulation for faster drying.

General Questions

1. What are the Key Differences between Camshelving®, Camshelving Elements and Camshelving Basics? Basics include the following:

a. Limited Sizes.

b. Reduced Weight-bearing Capacity.

c. No Camguard Anti-microbial protection on shelf plates.

d. No Mobile Option or High Density.

e. No Solid Shelf Plates.

f. Permanently affixed Post Connectors (once installed, cannot be removed).

g. No Fencing

h. No Divider Bars

2. Does Basics shelving have a steel core like Camshelving (CS or MS)?

No, there is no metal core inside Basics Traverse and Posts. Although the Traverse and Posts on Basics are lighter and slimmer compared to Elements, the composite is extremely strong and does not require steel for its strength.

3. What does the composite material that Basics is made from consist of?

Basics’ composite material is composed of two materials: glass and resin, that when combined through our thermo set manufacturing process makes an extremely strong composite material. Basics is made of the same material as Camshelving Elements.

 

4. Can Basics and Elements be joined together?

No, these two products are designed with different sized dovetails, posts and traverse end pieces and cannot be joined together. The dovetails are of different dimensions between the two lines and are not universal.

 

5. Is the temperature range on the Basics the same as Elements?

Yes, the temperature range is the same. Basics withstand extreme temperatures down to -38 o C or warm environments up to 88 o C.

 

6. Is Basics available in same colours as Elements?

Basics (posts and traverses) will be the same colour as Elements and available in 1 colour – Graphite Gray (580). The colour of the shelf plates is Soft Gray (151), does not include Camguard® Antimicrobial.

 

7. Are we able to provide our Shelving Design Service for Basics?

Yes, we offer this service for Basics as we do for Camshelving and Elements, the same software handles all three lines. You are able to design 1 project and/or 1 storage area using a combination of all 3 shelving lines. (Not interconnected)

 

8. Is the warranty on Basics different from it is on Camshelving and Elements?

No, the warranty is the same, 1 year. Basics shelving line also includes a lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion.

 

9. Are the shelf plates interchangeable?

No, the shelf plates are not interchangeable between Basics, Camshelving (CS & MS) and Elements. These new shelf plates are designed differently, with slightly different dimensions and with no Camguard Antimicrobial protection.

 

10. Are the dovetails on Basics the same as Elements?

No, the dovetails on Basics are smaller and are designed specifically for Basics.

 

11. Are the Stationary post heights on Basics the same as Elements?

Yes. Basics Stationary posts are available in three standard heights: 1630mm, 1830 mm and 2140 mm.

 

12. Is the spacing on Basics posts every 100 mm, the same as it is on Camshelving and Elements?

Yes.

13. Are all the same options for shelf kits available in Basics as in Elements?

No, Basics will only offer kits containing single, vented shelf kits in the most popular sizes for ease of ordering and shipping for large jobs.

 

ASSEMBLY

1. Is Basics just as easy to assemble as Elements?

Yes, Basics is just as easy to assemble as Elements. It contains the same amount of parts and compared to wire or epoxy coated shelving it is easier and faster to assemble.

 

2. Do any of the components on Basics vary from Elements?

Yes, the design on the Top Post Connector and the Post Connector wedges have been redesigned.

- The Top Post Connector is now a permanent piece. Once installed, it cannot be removed. This was designed intentionally to provide more stability.

- The Post Connector wedges are now designed as a 2 –piece collar wedge that will completely wrap around the post.

 

3. Are special tools required to assemble Basics?

No special tools or “S” hooks are required to assemble or attach Basics Shelving together. Only the use of a rubber mallet is required. It is also recommended that the unit be levelled side to side and front to back before loading items onto it.

 

4. Do the traverses slide on and off the posts the same as in Elements?

Yes, the traverses slide on and off the post the same way; the dovetails come in two pieces A and B, and they need to be attached to the post before adding the traverse.

 

5. Do the top Post Connectors on Basics slide on the posts the same way as they do on Elements?

Yes, the top Post Connector slides down onto the posts from the top for both Basics and Elements. The Top Post Connector on Basics is slightly different as it locks permanently in place onto the post once installed.

 

6. Do the bottom Post Connectors on Basics slide on the posts the same way they do on Elements?

Yes, for Basics the bottom Post Connector slides up the posts from the bottom, then just slide back down over the wedges to secure it into place.

 

7. Do Basics Starter Units and Add-on Units attach the same as they do with Elements?

Yes, the add-on unit attaches to the starter unit the same way on the shared post. There is no loss of weight bearing capacity between the starter and add-on unit.

 

HYGIENIC

1. Is Camguard® Antimicrobial also a feature on Basics shelf plates?

No, Basics Shelf Plates are not embedded with Camguard Antimicrobial but it still supports HACCP Sanitation recommendations due to the removable shelf plates.

 

2. Basics are less expensive than Elements, but does it also support all food safety, HACCP and sanitation guidelines?

Yes, Basics’ hygienic design supports all food safety, HACCP and sanitation guidelines.

 

3. Will the Stainless-Steel screws used to attach the traverse end piece on Basics rust?

No, these screws will not rust. They are made of a 400 series stainless and have been tested using salt spray and other harsh chemicals.

 

CUSTOMIZATION

1. Can we order custom lengths in Basics?

Not available.

 

2. Can the Basics traverses be cut in the field?

No, the material used on Basics requires special cutting tools. Cutting these in the field would damage the product and void the warranty.

 

3. Will 5-Shelf Starter Units be available in Basics?

No, but a 5-shelf Unit can be created by ordering Post Kits, or a 4-Shelf Starter Unit plus an additional Shelf Kit.

1. What is the longest traverse length available in Basics?

The longest length is 1530 mm.

2. Is weight-bearing capacity the same on Basics and Elements?

No.

Yes, the maximum length unit on Basics is 1220 mm when using Corner Connectors, the same as it is on Camshelving and Elements.

 

4. Is there a maximum weight-bearing capacity on Basics when using corner connectors?

Yes, the maximum weight-bearing capacity on Basics when using corner connectors is 136 kg. per shelf.

 

CONFIGURATIONS

1. Can we create all the same configurations in Basics as in Camshelving or Elements?

Yes, with Basics you will be able to create the same configurations (i.e. Corner Unit or “L” Shaped Unit, or “U” Shaped Unit).

 

2. Can Basics and Elements be joined together?

No, these two products are designed with different size components and cannot be joined together.

 

MOBILE

1. Will Mobile Units be available in Basics?

No, we will not offer any Mobile Units as part of the Basics line.

 

2. Can Basics Stationary Units be configured to Mobile?

No. Basics was not designed for mobile applications and cannot be retrofitted in the field. Adding casters will void the warranty on the product.

 

3. Will the Fencing System be available in Basics?

No, the Fencing System will not be available on Basics, it is only available for Camshelving (CS & MS).

 

ACCESSORIES

1. Are Dunnage Stands the same on Basics as they are on Elements?

No, new Dunnage Stands have been designed specifically for Basics shelving. It has a different weight bearing capacity compared to Elements and is rated with a load capacity of 363 kg. on the bottom shelf.

 

2. Are Corner Connectors the same on Basics as they are on Elements?

No, new Corner Connectors have been designed to specifically fit Basics Shelving. These corner connectors have a weight-bearing capacity of 136kg per shelf.

 

3. Are Divider Bars available for Basics?

No, Divider Bars are not available as part of the Basics shelving line.

 

4. Is the Seismic Wall Mount the same in Basics as it is on Elements?

Yes. This accessory will fit Basics and Elements.
